The 2018 Event

Filipino Martial Arts World Festival was organized to promote the art worldwide, introduce and upgrade the knowledge of every practitioners through learning from different internationally known and high caliber FMA Instructors in one event.

Through the initiative and dedication of Grandmaster Dieter Knuettel and Alfred Plath of Deutscher Arnis Verband, the 1st and 2nd Festival was successfully held in Germany in 2002 and 2004 respectively. It was then through the mutual interest of DAV and IMAFP the Filipino Martial Art Event was brought back to its homeland, the Philippines. The 3rd festival was held in 2006 in Tagaytay, Philippines spearheaded by GM Rene Tongson as the Chairman and the IMAFP team lead by Chairman Atty. Buddy Demaisip. Then onwards the history goes on along with the dedicated/untiring organizing team.

The main aim of the event is to showcase the expertise of the local and foreign FMA grandmasters and give an opportunity for practitioners to train with different grandmasters, explore the beauty of the island, experience the Filipino culture and understand the roots of the art in one event.
